Read on for instructions that take you through the voting
process, from recieving your poll card to dropping your papers in
the ballot box.
Step 1: Receiving your poll card.
If you are registered to vote, you will receive a poll card
before election day. Your poll card tells you where your polling
station is.

Step 2: Arriving at the polling station.
Your polling station is open from 7am to 10pm. When you arrive
at the polling station, signs will direct you to the correct place
to go.
Step 3: Collecting your ballot papers.
Go to the table where the staff are sitting. One of them will
ask for your name and address. This will be checked against the
electoral register and then you will be given your three ballot
papers.
Step 4: In the polling booth.
Enter the polling booth to complete your three ballot papers in
private. If you make a mistake, you can ask the staff for a new
paper.
Step 5(a): The Mayoral ballot paper.
Vote for the Mayor of London using the pink ballot paper.
Step 5(b): The Mayoral Ballot paper.
You have a first choice and a second choice for Mayor.
Step 5(c): The Mayoral ballot paper.
Vote for your first choice candidate with one mark (X) in
column one.
Step 5(d): The Mayoral ballot paper.
Vote for your second choice with one mark (X) in column
two.
Step 6(a): The Constituency Member ballot
paper.
Vote for your Constituency London Assembly Member using the
yellow ballot paper.
Step 6(b): The Constituency Member ballot
paper.
You have one vote. Mark a cross (X) next to your choice of
candidate.
Step 7(a): The London-wide ballot paper.
Vote for the London-wide Assembly Member contest using the
peach-coloured ballot paper.
Step 7(b): The London-wide ballot paper.
You have one vote. Mark a cross (X) next to your choice of
party or candidate.
Step 8: The ballot boxes.
Once you've filled in your papers, place all three unfolded into
the correct ballot box.
